Office renovation Vaugirard, Paris

The refurbishment of this tertiary-sector building is aimed at completely changing its image and improving its performance through a comprehensive technical overhaul (thermal and acoustic insulation of the facade, compliance with standards, asbestos removal) to turn it into a head office up to the highest standards. The first floor was enlarged and the reception areas redesigned. The roof terrace was planted and restructured to accommodate a rooftop restaurant. The existing building's 1.35 m grid was expressed through a curtain-wall grid and small spandrel windows. While retaining the original grid, our project opens up the facades as much as possible by enlarging the glazing and modernizing their image. The desired transparency is balanced by the high performance of the envelope and the bioclimatic measures implemented (free-cooling, customized solar protection). The work of artist Olafur Eliasson enhances the overall effect.
