The mixed-use development on Place Nelson Mandela, on the Grenoble peninsula, comprises a range of facilities including offices, an hotel, an indoor-outdoor restaurant, a co-working space, a spa and fitness centre, and a swimming pool. The elliptical façade – dictated by the urban context and the design competition, modelled on the façade of Christian de Portzamparc’s building opposite – is a constraint that adds to the site’s complexity, compounded by the presence of the SNCF railway line on one side and the tram tracks on the other. The future building offers breathtaking views of the Alpine peaks and the sweeping landscape of the peninsula.
